ACTING

To bring: Nothing but your charming selves!

NOTES:

1) You can turn up to as many auditions as you want! However, the more auditions you attend does not dictate the likelihood of you getting into the show! If you think you did a crummy performance or it just wasn’t right come back and try again.

2) If you also have another skillset or hidden talent and you want to show it off, you can do that too! If you have something pre-organised and rehearsed and are desperate to perform that contact us by sending an email to directors@sciencerevue.org

SINGING
What to bring: Prepare a short song of your choice that you think showcases your vocal range/ability.

MAJOR NOTE: Please contact our Vocal Director Rebecca Wong before you turn up! This is important as there will be group choral singing parts to the audition, that means there can be only a certain number of people per slot. Otherwise, you may be able to do your prepared piece but not the choral component. Contact Bec at vocal@sciencerevue.org to book an audition. You will receive a confirmation email, with further details and sheet music for the group audition attached.

FAQ

Who are you?
Hello there friends! We’re the USYD Science Revue, we’re a not for profit organisation, and we love fun (and cute animal gifs)!

What’s a revue?
revue (n.)
noun: revue; plural noun: revues

  1. a light theatrical entertainment consisting of a series of short sketches, songs, and dances, typically dealing satirically with topical issues.

Basically, we’re an annual sketch comedy show written and performed by students at the University of Sydney. (We do the singing/dancing/band stuff too!) Although we are representative of the science faculty, we are open to people from across the university – and even to a few from other universities too!

Do I have to be a science student?

No, you do not need to be a science student to join or audition. We accept people from all faculties, so long as you’re fun, keen and enthusiastic.

So what do you do with the money you make?

All profits made from our show goes to support Cystic Fibrosis.

Where can I find you?

facebook/twitter/youtube/instagram/website

I’ve watched every video, read every tweet, liked every facebook post, and grammed every instant – what now?

If you want to hang with us (we’re cool), we run weekly workshops! You can swing by the first level of the Madsen Building on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5-7pm. Wander the corridors long enough and you’ll hear laughter, voices, and silly drama games. That’s us!

How long is a piece of string?

Four. You know it is.
